One of the main benefits of becoming a CNA in California is the relatively short training period. The training typically lasts between 4-10 weeks, which is much shorter than the training required for other nursing roles such as a registered nurse (RN) or licensed vocational nurse (LVN). Additionally, the cost of training to become a CNA is generally lower than the cost of training for other nursing roles. Here at , we offer courses as short as 4 weeks to 10 weeks and during weeknights and weekends as well.

Once you become a CNA in California, you will have many job opportunities available to you. The demand for CNAs in California is high, and the employment rate for CNAs is expected to grow significantly in the coming years due to an aging population and an increase in the number of people needing long-term care. CNAs work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and home health agencies.

Working as a CNA can provide valuable hands-on experience in the field of nursing. CNAs work closely with patients, providing basic care and assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating. This experience can be helpful for those who plan to pursue further education and training to become an RN or LVN. It can also help CNAs develop strong interpersonal and communication skills that are essential for success in the nursing field.

In addition to the benefits mentioned above, there are also many career advancement opportunities available to CNAs in California. Many CNAs go on to pursue further education and training to become RNs or LVNs. These roles require additional education and training, but they also come with higher salaries and more advanced responsibilities. In fact, many RNs and LVNs start their careers as CNAs and work their way up through the ranks.

There are several reasons why students might choose to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) over other alternative career options. Here are some examples:

Shorter Training Period: The training period for a CNA is usually shorter than other healthcare careers such as registered nursing or licensed practical nursing. This means that students can enter the workforce sooner and begin earning a salary. Additionally, shorter training periods usually translate to lower tuition costs, which is especially important for students who are looking to minimize student loan debt.

Job Opportunities: The demand for CNAs is high, and this is expected to continue for the foreseeable future. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of nursing assistants is projected to grow 8 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations. This demand is driven by the aging baby boomer population, who require more care in their later years. With a CNA certification, students can work in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, and home health care agencies.

Gain Valuable Experience: CNAs provide direct care to patients, and this experience can be invaluable to students who are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. CNAs assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding. They also take vital signs, assist with medical procedures, and document patient information. This hands-on experience is essential for students who are considering pursuing a higher degree in nursing.

Flexibility: CNAs often work in shifts, which can be ideal for students who are looking for a flexible schedule. Many healthcare facilities offer part-time or full-time positions, and some even offer evening and weekend shifts.

Career Advancement: CNAs who wish to further their career can pursue additional training to become licensed practical nurses (LPNs) or registered nurses (RNs). CNAs who continue their education and training can advance into more specialized areas of healthcare such as oncology, pediatrics, or intensive care.

In conclusion, there are many reasons why students might choose to become a CNA over other alternative career options. Shorter training periods, job opportunities, gaining valuable experience, flexibility, and career advancement are just some of the benefits of pursuing a career as a CNA. Ultimately, the decision to become a CNA will depend on individual interests and career goals.

What are the responsibilities of a certified nursing assistant?

CNAs are tasked with assisting patients with their healthcare needs under the supervision of a nurse. • Document health records, complete forms, do reports, and log relevant healthcare information.
  • Prioritize patient comfort during transport, report patient information to a nursing supervisor, and answer patient calls and requests.

How Do I Get Started In The Medical field? /how-do-i-get-started-in-the-medical-field/ Fri, 20 Nov 2020 21:49:02 +0000 /?p=2984

HOW TO START A CAREER IN THE MEDICAL FIELD WITHOUT PRIOR EXPERIENCE

So You Want A Career In The Medical Field But Have No Prior Medical Experience.

Dont let the lack of experience stop you from entering the medical field.泭 Youre caring for patients so it may seem intimidating at first, but there are several training programs for different entry-level careers in the medical field to look at.泭

Most people looking into the medical field are interested because of the higher pay.泭 Some may have family members already with careers in the medical field.泭 Perks and benefits might be good too. Yet, the majority of people have one thing in common, they enjoy taking care of patients and being challenged at their job.泭

Going to the right school for training and picking the right career is important.泭 First, you have to pick a good school. In California, you want at least a school that is approved and you want a school that is Accredited. Then you can consider your options between a long vs short training program.泭 Each has its pros and cons which we will discuss below.泭

Short Programs: These training programs are typically certificate-based.泭 They can run from a few hours of training to up to 6 months or more.泭 These programs are usually less than 900 hours in total length.泭 In general, jobs are more specific and in many cases, entry-level jobs in these fields of training can be more competitive.泭 The tuition costs for these short programs typically range from $100 to a few thousand dollars.泭 Say, for example, a CPR training course can be $30-75 dollars per course, but it would be difficult to find a job simply as a CPR professional.泭 Courses such as Phlebotomy Training run anywhere between $1700-2200 per course with much higher starting pay see the link to phlebotomy technician.泭 Short programs are not eligible for most Federal Financial Aid programs. Read more about the short medical programs here.泭

Long Programs: Long format training programs can either be certificate or diploma awarding.泭 You can simply pack more training into a longer course.泭 These courses can be as short as 900 hours, approximately 9 months, or longer.泭 For example, our MA certificate program is 900 hours.泭 Our MCA AAS Degree program takes approximately 12 months to complete.泭 In our experience, long program graduates have more doors of opportunity after graduation.泭 Overall, longer programs provide a more solid medical educational base and a good long program is our recommendation for almost all entry-level medical professionals starting out.泭 Medical Assisting provides a great start for this.泭 Also important to mention is that most long program courses are eligible for Federal Financial Aid (if you qualify), please reach out here for more information.泭

Dont forget, regardless of which program you decide on, pick one from an accredited school with a good reputation and a long history of serving their students WELL.

CNAs learn a wide variety of skills.泭 Those who work in hospitals often have years of experience to be able to deal with the fast-paced nature and respond quickly to critical patients.泭 Nursing home patients require direct care services that require patience and compassion.泭 Home Health Care patients often require assistance in mobility and performing personal care tasks that they cannot do themselves.泭 Assisted Living Facilities have more patients who are more independent and can be a good training ground for CNAs.泭 Adult Day Care has physically or mentally challenged residents who return home in the evenings.泭 These patients require a different type of care.泭 Clinics and Physicians Offices need CNAs to take vital signs and provide basic care to patients who visit the clinic.泭 Some schools require a CAN to help with the provisioning of food and health services to students.泭 This simply scratches the surface of what all CNAs do.泭 Before I forget, here are the starting salaries for CNAs.泭 We think Indeeds survey is fairly accurate

How To Choose A CNA Training Program? /how-to-choose-a-cna-training-program/ Sun, 25 Oct 2020 22:32:44 +0000 /?p=2881

How DO I choose a CNA Training Program

CNA jobs are in huge demand right now.泭 No, Im not exaggerating.泭 At least once a week we receive inquiries from employers looking for CNAs to hire.泭 However, they are looking for Certified Licensed CNAs but the job outlook is excellent as of this writing.

CNAs work in many different types of medical institutions such as Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Adult Day Care, Clinics, physicians Office, and even Schools.泭 Some locations are fast-paced.泭 Some require CNAs with versatility and confidence.泭 Some require CNAs to be both physically and mentally strong.泭 CNAs truly play a crucial role in patient care.泭 I dont think these facilities can function without them, to be honest.泭

CNAs work under an LVN or RN or higher so, in terms of patient care, the responsibility is low to moderate.泭 This career can be quite rewarding as you have an immediate hands-on impact with so many types of patients.泭 Many patients spend the majority of their time with their CNAs compared to other healthcare workers.泭 However, the job of a CNA can also be demanding as they are responsible for direct patient care, in some cases bathing, cleaning, feeding, and other bare essential tasks that patients need assistance with.泭 CNAs are amazing people really.泭

CNAs are also a popular stepping stone towards a career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Registered Nurse (RN), or higher.泭 Some LVN/RN training programs require CNA training prior to acceptance, for example.泭

What are the course details?

"NO PRIOR TRAINING NECESSARY."
